Die Stadt. Der \u00dcberfall.<\/b> von Elfriede Jelinek (2012), treten <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">1 Schauspielerin<\/span><\/strong> und <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6 Schauspieler<\/span> auf, in <b>Murmel Murmel<\/b> von Dieter Roth (1974) <span style=\"color:#00adef;\"><strong>2 Schauspielerinnen<\/strong><\/span> und <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">9 Schauspieler<\/span>. (Leider habe ich die urspr\u00fcngliche Besetzungsangabe zum St\u00fcck nicht gefunden, nur die Angabe, dass der Text aus dem zigfach wiederholten Wort \u201eMurmel\u201c besteht. Also wei\u00df ich nicht, ob die <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">2<\/span><\/strong>:<span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">9<\/span>-Besetzung vom Autor oder dem Regisseur stammt.)<br \/>\nAuch Brechts <b>Die heilige Johanna der Schlachth\u00f6fe <\/b>ist stark m\u00e4nnerlastig, in Sebastian Baumgartens Inszenierung spielen <span style=\"color:#00adef;\"><strong>4 Schauspielerinnen<\/strong><\/span> und <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">7 Schauspieler<\/span> mit, der Unterschied ist im Original aber noch gr\u00f6\u00dfer: <span style=\"color:#00adef;\"><strong>3 Frauen<\/strong><\/span>&#8211; gegen\u00fcber <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">19 M\u00e4nnerrollen<\/span>.\u00a0 (Das St\u00fcck ist 1931 erschienen, wurde aber erst 1959 uraufgef\u00fchrt, am Hamburger Schauspielhaus unter der Regie von Gustaf Gr\u00fcndgens)<br \/>\nDie einzige Produktion mit (leichtem) Schauspielerinnen\u00fcbergewicht &#8211; <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">8<\/span><\/strong>:<span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6<\/span> &#8211; ist die Krieg und Frieden-Fassung von Sebastian Hartmann, im zugrundeliegenden Roman gibt es ungef\u00e4hr <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">40 m\u00e4nnliche<\/span> und <span style=\"color:#00adef;\"><strong>20 weibliche<\/strong> <\/span>namentlich genannte Figuren.<br \/>\nAuch andere \u00e4ltere St\u00fccke \u2013 Euripides` <b>Medea<\/b> (431 vuZ), Gerhart Hauptmanns <b>Die Ratten<\/b> (1911) und <b>Jeder stirbt f\u00fcr sich allein<\/b> (nach Hans Falladas Roman aus dem Jahr 1947) &#8211; wurden in relativ ausgeglichenen Rollenverh\u00e4ltnissen inszeniert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Frauen- und M\u00e4nnerrollen:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align:justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Krieg und Frieden. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">8 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Orpheus stieg herab. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">5 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">5 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Die Ratten. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">4 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">4 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Jeder stirbt f\u00fcr sich allein. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">5 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Disabled Theater. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">5 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Medea. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">3 F<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">4 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Reise durch die Nacht. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">2 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">3 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Die heiligen Johanna der Schlachth\u00f6fe.\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">4 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">7 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Murmel Murmel.<span style=\"color:#00adef;\"> <strong>2 F<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">9 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Die Stra\u00dfe. Die Stadt. Der \u00dcberfall. <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">1 F<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6 M<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Nat\u00fcrlich kann von 10 Produktionen nicht auf alle Inszenierungen eines Jahrsgangs geschlossen werden. Beispielsweise hei\u00dfen drei der Regieleute Sebastian und zwei B\u00fchnenbildnerinnen Eva mit Vornamen &#8211; das l\u00e4sst sich aber nat\u00fcrlich nicht auf 30 % Sebastian-Regisseure bzw. 20 % Eva-B\u00fchnenbildnerinnen im deutschsprachigen Raum hochrechnen. Und wie viele Frauen in der letzten Spielzeit deutschsprachige Theaterproduktionen inszenierten m\u00fcsste auch \u00fcberpr\u00fcft, und dem Anteil der Frauen unter allen deutschsprachigen Theaterregieleuten gegen\u00fcbergestellt werden.<br \/>\nSt\u00fccke und Rollen: es ist nicht weiter schlimm, wenn St\u00fccke m\u00e4nnerlastige Besetzungslisten haben oder Geschichten von M\u00e4nnern erz\u00e4hlen. Allerdings w\u00e4re das in der Gesamtheit, als mehrheitlicher Trend schon kritikw\u00fcrdig. Denn Theater erz\u00e4hlt vom Leben, von elementaren Themen. Und da darf die H\u00e4lfte der Gesellschaft, die Frauen, nicht in eine Randposition gedr\u00e4ngt werden oder nur als Nebenfiguren vorkommen.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#336699;\">Hoffnungsvoll stimmt, wenn sich Regisseur\/innen \u00fcber die (Geschlechter-)Vorgaben in Besetzungslisten hinwegsetzen und Rollen anders als \u00fcblich besetzen. Das kann auch gerade bei klassischen Stoffen einen frischen Blick schaffen.<br \/>\nWas die neue Dramatik betrifft und ausgehend von den m\u00e4nnerdominierten Urauff\u00fchrungen beim diesj\u00e4hrigen Theatertreffen w\u00e4re es interessant, einmal alle Urauff\u00fchrungen 2012 in Bezug auf das Geschlechterverh\u00e4ltnis auszuwerten. Die Stadt. Der \u00dcberfall.<\/b> by Elfriede Jelinek (2012), there are <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">1 actress<\/span><\/strong> and <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6 actors<\/span>, in <b>Murmel Murmel<\/b> by Dieter Roth (1974) it\u2019s <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">2 actresses<\/span> <\/strong>and <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">9 actors<\/span>. (So far I have not been able to check the originally proposed cast for of this play, all I know is that the textbook consists only of the word \u201eMurmel\u201c, many many times over. So I don\u2019t know if the <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">2<\/span><\/strong>:<span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">9<\/span> relationships is the idea of the author or of the director).<br \/>\nBrecht\u2019s <b>Die heilige Johanna der Schlachth\u00f6fe \/ Saint Joan of the Stockyards <\/b>has got a very male dominated cast as well, Sebastian Baumgarten\u2019s production has <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">4 actresses<\/span><\/strong> and <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">7 actors<\/span>, but it\u2019s even more apparent in the original play: <strong><span style=\"color:#00adef;\">3 female<\/span><\/strong> and <span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">19 male<\/span> parts on the list (The play came out in 1931 but was not performed until 1959, when Gustaf Gr\u00fcndgens directed it for the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg).<br \/>\nThe only production with a (slight) majority of actresses &#8211; <span style=\"color:#00adef;\"><strong>8<\/strong><\/span>:<span style=\"color:#ed008c;\">6<\/span> &#8211; is Sebastian Hartmann\u2019s version of <b>Krieg und Frieden<\/b> \/ <b>War and Peace<\/b>. For example, three of the directos are called Sebastian and two of the stage designers are called Eva \u2013 but it would be weird to expect 30 % of all directors and 20 % of all stage designers to be Sebastians and Evas respectively. And how many women directed plays on german-language stages would have to be evaluated separatedly, and thereafter compared with the share of women among german-language theatre directors.\u00a0 (this &#8220;german-language&#8221; emphasis has to do with the fact that there are stages in other countries as well, e.g. Austria and Switzerland, where plays are produced in german, and they are considered for the Theatertreffen as well. This year for example the &#8220;Disabled Theater&#8221; production is swiss).<br \/>\nPlays and roles: of course it is not bad, when plays have a male dominated cast or tell stories of men. But on the whole, as an overall trend, this would need to be criticized. Theatre is about life, it tells of elementary issues, and therefore it would be bad if one half of society, the women, are pushed to the sides and only appear as minor characters.<br \/>\nIt is a hopefull sign when both male and female directors override the demands in casts regarding sex and other characteristics. This may open a new view especially for classic plays.<br \/>\nFor modern plays and coming back to the male dominated premieres at this year&#8217;s theatre meeting it would be very interesting to evaluate the gender ratio for all premieres of last year.
