Author \/ Editor Marian Evans <\/a>from New Zealand, who among other things publishes the blog<\/span> Wellywood Women <\/a>wrote to me some weeks back:<\/span>
\n \u201eOverall, I wonder whether you can make the layout of your blog a little clearer, because English speakers are going to have to find the page hugely attractive to move beyond a foreign language at the beginning, boring I know, but true<\/em>.\u201c<\/span>
\n Yes indeed, how true. I was unhappy myself with only mentioning an English version at the top of a sometimes long German text with colourful pictures etc, and the lengthy scrolling that was required in order to read in English. So Marian\u2019s comment led to me getting a little more into the world of html, until I found and mastered a solution. From now on the english versions have their own URL, and international readers can go there directly from the link incorporated in the \u201eEnglish version follows…\u201c.<\/span>
\n Today I have edited all blog texts in this manner (quite a few already!) and I hope that SchspIN is getting more attractive to English speaking readers this way. I am looking forward to more suggestions regarding the layout and of course more importantly to a lively discussion of the topics, since the phenomena I write about are universal of course.
\nBy the way, Wellywood Women as the name suggests is a blog from Wellington, Neuseeland: \u201eThe Development Project’s blog \u2014 For women who make movies. And for the people who love them<\/em>.\u201c Marian Evans twitter handle is @devt<\/a>.
\nAnd finally let me stress that the next two articles are already in the making, and have been for quite a few weeks now. Lately I\u2019ve been busy filming (which is very good of course!) and had less time to spend on SchspIN. But soon there will be an interview with film editor<\/span> Sabine Brose<\/a> from Berlin,\u00a0who was recently awarded a price for her editing of feature film “Zappelphilipp”, the Deutschen Kamerapreis Schnitt 2013, and even sooner, a text on film making and signs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Die neuseel\u00e4ndische Autorin Marian Evans<\/a>, die u.a. das Blog Wellywood Women <\/a>herausgibt, schrieb mir vor ein paar Wochen:

\nJa in der Tat, da hat sie vollkommen recht. Ich war auch nicht gl\u00fccklich mit dem Zustand, dass nur am Anfang eines Textes auf die englische Version hingewiesen wird und die internationalen Leser\/innen dann endlos scrollen mussten, um lesen zu k\u00f6nnen. Marians Anregung hat mich angespornt, mich mehr mit der Welt des html zu besch\u00e4ftigen. Voila! Anker hei\u00dft das Stichwort; jetzt haben die englische Fassungen ihren eigenen Direktlink, und sie k\u00f6nnen auch per klick vom\u00a0 \u201eEnglish version follows German\u201c angesteuert werden.
\nGerade habe ich alle Eintr\u00e4ge entsprechend editiert (es sind schon ganz sch\u00f6n viele!) und hoffe, dass das Blog so nutzbarer f\u00fcr englischsprachige Leser\/innen geworden sind. Ich freue mich auf weitere Anregungen und nat\u00fcrlich eine lebhafte Diskussion der Inhalte, denn die Ph\u00e4nomene \u00fcber die ich schreibe, sind ja universell.
