{"id":1859,"date":"2014-01-14T23:37:28","date_gmt":"2014-01-14T22:37:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/schspin.wordpress.com\/?p=1859"},"modified":"2014-01-14T23:37:28","modified_gmt":"2014-01-14T22:37:28","slug":"lola_longlist_2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/gb\/2014\/01\/14\/lola_longlist_2014\/","title":{"rendered":"25 Spielfilme in der Lola-Vorauswahl &#8211; 25 Films preselected for the German Film Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/2014\/01\/14\/lola_longlist_2014\/#english\">English Version<\/a> follows German.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Vor ein paar Tagen wurde von der Deutschen Filmakademie die <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deutsche-filmakademie.de\/uploads\/media\/Vorauswahl_2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vorauswahl <\/a>f\u00fcr die diesj\u00e4hrigen Deutschen Filmpreise bekannt gegeben, eine Jury hatte aus allen angemeldeten deutschen Kinofilmen des letzten Jahres eine Reihe programmf\u00fcllender Spielfilme, Kinderfilme und Dokumentarfilme ausgew\u00e4hlt, dazu wurde noch eine kleine Anzahl von Einzelleistungen nachbenannt (d.h. diese Filme sind nicht f\u00fcr eine Nominierung in allen Kategorien angemeldet).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#336699;\">Aus dieser Vorauswahl wird nun per grob gewerkeweiser Abstimmung unter den Mitgliedern der Filmakademie die Nominiertenliste ermittelt, und daraus dann die Preistr\u00e4ger\/innen gew\u00e4hlt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Ich habe f\u00fcr heute die 25 vorausgew\u00e4hlten programmf\u00fcllenden Spielfilme im 6-Gewerke-Check ausgewertet, d.h. jeweils f\u00fcr Regie, Drehbuch, Produzent\/in, Kamera, Ton und Schnitt den prozentualen Frauenanteil ausgerechnet. Nein, in 7 Gewerken, Szenenbild kam noch dazu. In der Datenbank von <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crew-united.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crew united\u00a0<\/a>sind gut die H\u00e4lfte aller in den aufgenommenen Filmproduktionen t\u00e4tigen Szenenbildleute Frauen (53,4 %). Im Berufsverband betr\u00e4gt der Frauenanteil 32,5 %. Der Berufsverband hie\u00df seit der Gr\u00fcndung 1983 SFK <em>Verband der Szenenbildner, Filmarchitekten und Kost\u00fcmbildner<\/em>, er wurde im August 2013 umbenannt in\u00a0 VSK <a href=\"http:\/\/www.v-sk.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Verband der Berufsgruppen Szenenbild und Kost\u00fcmbild\u00a0<\/a>&#8211; eine gute Entscheidung!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Die Filme: Gewerke ohne Frauen \/ ohne M\u00e4nner?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Abbildung 1 zeigt Klassen, von links nach rechts <!--more  [Weiterlesen - Read On] --> Frauenbeteiligung in allen 7 Gewerken bis 7 Gewerke ohne Frauen, und auf der y-Achse die Anzahl der jeweiligen Filme. Dann farblich noch unterschieden zwischen Filmen von Regisseurinnen (blau) und Regisseuren (rosa).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_dt1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1877 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_dt1.jpg\" alt=\"LolaLong_2014_2_dt\" width=\"611\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_dt1.jpg 627w, https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_dt1-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Was auff\u00e4llig ist: wenn eine Frau Regie f\u00fchrt arbeiten deutlich mehr Frauen in den untersuchten Gewerken mit als in den Filmen von M\u00e4nnern. 6 Regisseure haben keine weibliche Filmschaffende als Verantwortliche in den \u00fcbrigen 6 Bereichen in ihrem Film.\u00a0 Warum ist das so? Arbeiten Regisseure nicht so gerne mit Frauen? Sind das die Auswirkungen dieser ber\u00fchmten M\u00e4nnernetzwerke? Besteht ein Zusammenhang zum Gesamtbudget? Oder woran liegt es?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#336699;\">50 % der Regisseurinnen haben nur in einem oder zwei Gewerken einen Mann an verantwortlicher Stelle, aber 94 % der Regisseure haben in keinem oder nur in einem oder zwei Gewerken eine Frau als Chefin eines Gewerks.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#336699;\">Das ist nat\u00fcrlich nicht zu verallgemeinern, es gilt f\u00fcr dieses 25 Filme.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Die sechs Filme mit dem Nullwert sind: 5 JAHRE LEBEN, DIE ANDERE HEIMAT, DAS FINSTERE TAL, KOHLHAAS ODER DIE VERH\u00c4LTNISM\u00c4\u00dfIGKEIT DER MITTEL, DER MEDICUS und NICHT MEIN TAG. Die zwei Filme mit der Frauenbeteiligung in 6 Gewerken sind TORE TANZ und ZWISCHEN WELTEN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Die Gewerke: Wo arbeiten die Frauen?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Abbildung 2 zeigt den Frauenanteil in den 7 Gewerken f\u00fcr die 25 Filme Lolas 2014 (blaue S\u00e4ulen), und die 17 Filme, die 2013 in allen Kategorien f\u00fcr den Deutschen Filmpreis nominiert wurden (blau-wei\u00df gestreifte S\u00e4ulen). Dazu als Referenzwerte die Frauenanteile in der crew united Datenbank (rosa Raute) und den Berufsverb\u00e4nden (gr\u00fcner Kreis).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_dt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1855 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_dt.jpg\" alt=\"LolaLong_2014_dt\" width=\"611\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_dt.jpg 704w, https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_dt-300x179.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Wie schon im letzten Jahr bei den Nominierungen liegt der Frauenanteil bei Regie ungef\u00e4hr bei einem Drittel, somit \u00fcber den Referenzwerten. Im Drehbuchbereich waren ebenso betrachtet Frauen unterrepr\u00e4sentiert (27 % gegen\u00fcber den Referenzwerten 40 bzw. 34 %), in den technischeren Gewerken Kamera (19 %) und Ton (3 %) gibt es Steigerungen gegen\u00fcber 2013 und den Referenzwerten. Im Schnittbereich gibt es den gr\u00f6\u00dften Unterschied zu den 2012er Nominierungen, nur noch 38 % gegen\u00fcber 60 im Vorjahr.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#336699;\">Es kann interessant sein, demn\u00e4chst wieder einen Gewerke-Check mit der kleineren Gruppe der nominierten Filme zu machen, und auch die Kinokassenerfolge den Filmpreis-Filmen gegen\u00fcberzustellen.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#336699;\">Das lie\u00dfe sich dann wiederum mit einer Untersuchung aus dem letzten Jahr vergleichen: <a title=\"Kunst oder Kommerz, wo arbeiten die Filmfrauen? Teil 1 Die Gewerke \u2013 \u201cGive me Art, Give me Money\u201d Female Filmmakers Part 1: Behind the\u00a0Camera\" href=\"http:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/2013\/06\/10\/kunst-kommerz\/\">Kunst oder Kommerz, wo arbeiten die Filmfrauen? Teil 1 Die Gewerke<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color:#336699;\">Bis dahin bleibt die Frage: warum Regisseure seltener Frauen mit diesen Gewerken betrauen. Nat\u00fcrlich ist es immer eine individuelle Entscheidung. Aber Abbildung 1 suggeriert schon, dass es nicht nur reiner Zufall ist.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><a name=\"english\"><\/a><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\"><b>English Version<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>25 Feature Films preselected for the German Film Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">A few days ago the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deutsche-filmakademie.de\/uploads\/media\/Vorauswahl_2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">preselection<\/a> <span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">for this year\u2019s German Film Awards was announced, a jury had decided on the feature films, children\u2019s films and documentaries, along with those there are some films that have not been entered in all categories. Now the members of the German Film Academy will &#8211; roughly in their divisions &#8211; choose the nominations by vote. And the final vote after that will determine the winners.<br \/>\nFor today I evaluated all 25 chosen feature films with my six-sections-check, i.e. I determined the percentage of women for direction, script, producer, cinematography, sound and editing. Oh no, there\u2019s a 7th, set production. In the data base of<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crew-united.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crew united<\/a> <span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">a good half of the listed film productions have women as head of department for set production. In the professional association (called VSK <a href=\"http:\/\/www.v-sk.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Verband der Berufsgruppen Szenenbild und Kost\u00fcmbild<\/a>, and representing the areas of set production and costume design)\u00a0 the share of women is 32,5 %.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">The Films: Sections without women \/ without men?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">Figure 1 shows a classification, from left to right it\u2019s all 7 to none of the 7 divisions including women as heads of department. The ordinate shows the number of films. Then there are the usual colours to distinguish between films with a female (blue) or male (pink) director.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_en1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1878 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_en1.jpg\" alt=\"LolaLong_2014_2_en\" width=\"611\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_en1.jpg 627w, https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_2_en1-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">What is somewhat remarkable: whenever a woman is directing there will be more women working as heads of department in the 7 divisions in question, definitely more than in the films by male directors. 6 men don\u2019t have any women in these sections of their teams. Why is that so? Don\u2019t male directors like working with women? Are these the effects of male networking? Is there a connection to the budgets of the films? Or what could be the reason?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">50 % of the female directors only have one or two sections with men, but 94 % of the male directors have no women or only women in one or two sections as head of department.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">Of course this cannot be generalized, this is just something to be found out about the 25 films under investigation.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\"> The six films with no women are\u00a0 5 JAHRE LEBEN, DIE ANDERE HEIMAT, DAS FINSTERE TAL, KOHLHAAS ODER DIE VERH\u00c4LTNISM\u00c4\u00dfIGKEIT DER MITTEL, DER MEDICUS und NICHT MEIN TAG. The two films with women in six of the seven sections are TORE TANZ und ZWISCHEN WELTEN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">Divisions of Productions: where do the women work?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">Figure 2 shows the share of women in the 7 divisions for the 25 films \/ 2014 awards (blue columns) as well as the 17 films, that were nominated in all categories for the German Film Awards in 2013 (colums striped blue and white). As a reference the shares of women in the crew united database (pink diamond) and the professional associations (green circle).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_en.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1856 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/schspin.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_en.jpg\" alt=\"LolaLong_2014_en\" width=\"611\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_en.jpg 704w, https:\/\/schspin.stieve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/lolalong_2014_en-300x179.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">Again &#8211; similar to last year \/ the nominations for the Film Awards, in this group of 25 films women account for roughly a third of the directors, which is above the reference values. As far as the scripts are concerned women are underrepresented (27 % as apposed to the reference values of 40 and 34 % respectively). In the more technical divisions like cinematography (19 %)\u00a0 and sound (3 %) there is a rise in comparison with the 2013 numbers as well as the reference values. The biggest difference between the groups of films can be found in the editing values, this year\u2019s 38 % in contrast to last year\u2019s 60 %.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#4d4d4d;\">It might be an interesting idea to do another six-sections-check for the smaller group of nominated films that we will get in a few weeks, and also to compare those films with the box office successes.
