Eine pers\u00f6nliche Geschichte vom Laufen
\n<\/span><\/h1>\n

Der heutige Blogtext ist eine Antwort auf die mehrfach ge\u00e4u\u00dferte Bitte \u201eSchreib doch auch mal was Pers\u00f6nliches<\/em>!\u201c.
\nNa gut, ich versuch\u2019s mal.<\/span>
\nVor ein paar Wochen hatte ich einen Termin in der Besetzungsabteilung der Bavaria Fernsehproduktion in M\u00fcnchen bei Gwendolyn Clayton<\/strong><\/span>. Spontan gesellte sich Clayton\u2019s Castingkollegin Silke Klug-Bader<\/strong> <\/span>dazu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Es wurde ein langes, produktives und kurzweiliges Dreiergespr\u00e4ch, in dem wir \u00fcber vergangene und anstehende Film- und Fernsehprojekte aber auch \u00fcber alles m\u00f6gliche andere sprachen, und irgendwann beim Thema Laufen<\/strong> landeten. Also nicht Laufen im Sinne von Gehen, sondern von Dauerlaufen, Joggen. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich fr\u00fcher sehr viel gelaufen bin. Angefangen hatte das in der Schulzeit. Wenn ich beispielsweise die ersten beiden Stunden frei hatte radelte ich auf meinem langen Schulweg bei einem Sportplatz vorbei, drehte 3 Runden, und dann ging\u2019s weiter zur Schule. Wie fit ich war k\u00f6nnt Ihr daran sehen, dass ich mich ohne eine Dusche zu brauchen in den Unterricht setzte (Ganztagsschule!). Aber zur\u00fcck zur Bavaria.
\nWir sprachen also \u00fcber\u2019s Laufen. Und ich sagte, dass ich schon oft daran gedacht hatte, wieder mit dem Laufen anzufangen, irgendwo im Park, am Kanal entlang, auf dem geretteten Tempelhofer Feld – aber wie sollte das gehen? Ich stelle mein Rad ab, laufe los, aber wie hinkriegen, dass der Weg mich dann auch wieder im richtigen Moment zum Rad zur\u00fcck f\u00fchrt, vor allem, wenn ich die Laufstrecke langsam steigern will<\/em>?
\nZiemlich aufgew\u00fchlt fuhr ich nach Berlin zur\u00fcck. (nee, stimmt nicht ganz, das schreib ich nur wegen der Dramatik). Die Tage vergingen. Auf einmal meldete sich die Vergangenheit: \u201eDreh doch wieder Runden auf einem Sportplatz! Das mochtest Du doch so gerne<\/em>.\u201c Das stimmt. Oh ja, ich mag die Monotonie des Rundendrehens. Ich mochte es schon damals, ohne Kopfh\u00f6rer, und ich m\u00f6chte es zwischendurch, mit Musik oder Portugiesischlektionen im Ohr. Und ich mochte es in den Schauspielschuljahren, textlernenderweise, und ich mochte es sogar \u2013 notgedrungen \u2013 auf einem Laufband, als kein Sportplatz zu finden war und ich f\u00fcr eine sehr physische Theaterprodukton fitter sein wollte. Aber vor allem: ich mochte die Runden auf der Aschebahn.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seit meiner Jugend hat sich die (Freizeit-)Laufbranche ziemlich ver\u00e4ndert, allein schon was das Outfit betrifft. Und erst die Schuhe! Einem gern strapazierten Klischee zufolge – und das haben wir sicher alle schon in diversen Filmen oder Serien bem\u00fcht gesehen \u2013 sind Frauen per se verr\u00fcckt nach Schuhen und kaufen am liebsten w\u00f6chentlich ein neues Paar.
\nDie Schauspielerin\u00a0Nina Ernst<\/strong> <\/span>bringt dies in einem Song, den sie f\u00fcr ihr Alter Ego Nina Tigrinha <\/a>schrieb, ironisch auf den Punkt: \u201eWas mich gl\u00fccklich macht (Schuhe<\/a>)\u201c.
\nNat\u00fcrlich gibt es auch in der Wirklichkeit und besonders in den reicheren L\u00e4ndern viele Frauen, die Schuhe sammeln, aber nicht nur. Unj\u00fcngst besuchte ich einen Freund, und der hatte die gr\u00f6\u00dfte aktive Schuhsammlung, die ich in meinem Leben au\u00dferhalb eines Schuhgro\u00dfmarkts gesehen hab. Und auch die Sportler\/innen in meinem Freundeskreis haben allein schon beachtliche Fachschuhmengen. Ich hab da kein so gro\u00dfes Sortiment und meine Stra\u00dfenturnschuhe sind schon sehr alt, aber immer noch bequem und nett, allerdings mit einem tragischen Loch nahe der linken Spitze, sie haben sich allm\u00e4hlich wirklich einen ruhigen Lebensabend verdient.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also doch neue Schuhe kaufen. An dieser Stelle verk\u00fcrze ich die Schilderung, bevor ich anfange mich beim Schreiben zu langweilen – und wie soll es da Euch erst beim Lesen gehen? Die Schuh(nicht-)kaufaktion dauerte mehrere Tagen oder Wochen. Wahnsinn, was da so auf dem Markt ist und nat\u00fcrlich sollte die Frage nach dem Wo und dem Wie der Schuhproduktion auch nicht v\u00f6llig ignoriert werden.
\nParallel fand ich immerhin einen \u00f6ffentlichen Sportplatz in meiner N\u00e4he (10 min. mit dem Rad) und \u2013 auch cool! \u2013ich entdeckte eine Laufapp f\u00fcr mein Fairphone\u00a0<\/a>bei F-Droid<\/a> (F-Droid is an installable catalogue of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications for the Android platform<\/em>, also perfekt f\u00fcr alle, die Android-Smartphones haben aber weder Googleprogramme installieren noch Google-Playstore benutzen wollen).
\nDies war nun mein Plan: Runden drehen, dabei Musik oder Niederl\u00e4ndischlektionen h\u00f6ren, und im Hintergrund die App laufen lassen, die mit Intervalltraining beginnt\u00a0 und sich langsam steigert, bis nach einigen Wochen 5 km am St\u00fcck gelaufen werden. Klingt doch gut!<\/span><\/p>\n

Ich hatte mich noch immer nicht f\u00fcr ein Paar Laufschuhe entscheiden k\u00f6nnen, wollte aber endlich anfangen, am n\u00e4chsten Tag sollte es losgehen, also suchte ich in meinen \u00fcberschaubaren Schuhschrank nach einem \u00dcbergangspaar. Und was fand ich?
\nWer von Euch kennt den ZAUBERER VON OZ? Da gibt es doch diese Stelle am Ende, wo die gute Hexe Glinda<\/strong> zu Dorothy<\/strong> sinngem\u00e4\u00df sagt: \u201eAlles was Du gesucht hast war die ganze Zeit schon da. Du musst nur Deine Schuhe (sic!) 3 Mal aneinander klicken und dazu Deinen Wunsch sagen<\/em>\u201c.
\nUnd auf einmal war ich Dorothy und mein Schuhschrank Glinda zeigte mir, dass ich die ganze Zeit schon superprima Laufschuhe besessen hatte. Schuhe, die ich vor Jahren von jemandem \u00fcbernommen hatte, dem sie zu klein geworden waren. Stabile Schuhe mit guter Polsterung, nur etwas klobig. Nicht unbedingt, weil es Herrenschuhe, sondern weil sie f\u00fcr mich 2 Nummern zu gro\u00df waren. Aber: heutzutage werden zum Laufen Schuhe getragen, die \u2013 genau! \u2013 ca. 2 Nummern gr\u00f6\u00dfer als die \u00fcblichen Schuhe sind. Gut gemacht, Glinda!<\/span><\/p>\n

Die passenden Schuhe zum Verkehrsmittel<\/span><\/h3>\n

Seitdem laufe ich regelm\u00e4\u00dfig auf ,meinem\u2019 Sportplatz. Ich h\u00f6re Musik und Sprachlektionen im Shufflemodus oder lerne den Text meiner n\u00e4chsten Rolle: im ZDF-Fernsehfilm NELE IN BERLIN (Buch: Andrea Solter<\/strong> <\/span>und Katinka Feistl<\/strong><\/span>, Regie: Katinka Feistl<\/strong><\/span>), spiele ich Leonie<\/strong>, die Schuhe tr\u00e4gt, die farblich zu ihrem Porsche passen.
\nIn gewisser Weise mache ich das auch, denn mein Fahrrad ist schwarz, und meine Laufschuhe ebenso.
\nAber das ist nur die halbe Geschichte.
\nIm Laufe der Laufschuhrecherche hatte ich mich in ein Paar Sportschuhe verliebt, die zwar ausdr\u00fccklich nicht zum Laufen gedacht sind (\u201eTrage diesen Schuh, wenn Du nicht l\u00e4ufst \u2013 um Deine Leistung zu verbessern, wenn Du l\u00e4ufst<\/em>\u201c) aber beim normalen Gehen (=Rumlaufen) die Fu\u00df- und Unterschenkelmuskulatur trainieren: Mizuno Be 2<\/strong>. Aber vor allem: der Schuh passt farblich 100 % zu meinem Blog!<\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s text is in answer to a question I regularly get: \u201eWhy do yo never write anything personal<\/em>?\u201c<\/span>
\n Alright, today I will.<\/span><\/p>\n

A few weeks ago I\u2019d been to Munich to meet Gwendolyn Clayton<\/span><\/strong> of the Casting Department at Bavaria Television Production. Spontaneously Clayton\u2019s colleague, casting director Silke Klug-Bader<\/span><\/strong> joined us.<\/span><\/p>\n

We had a long, productive and highly entertaining talk among the three of us, where we talked about past and upcoming film and TV projects and loads of other things, at one point we even ended up talking about running<\/strong>.<\/span>
\n I have to say that I used to run a lot up to some years ago. It all stated in my school days. For example, when I had to be there at 9.30 a.m. (instead of the usual 8 o\u2019clock) I would cycle a small detour to some sports field on the way, do 3 laps, and continue to school. You can guess how fit I was then when you consider that I went to my lessons without needing a shower. But back to Bavaria.<\/span>
\n So we talked about running. And I said that I had often thought of picking up running again, somewhere in a park, along a canal, or on the Tempelhofer Feld (that\u2019s the area of the former Berlin airport Tempelhof – maybe you know Billy Wilder\u2019s film ONE, TWO, THREE? All the airport scene\u2019s are at Tempelhof. And now the airport is closed and we have a lovely public space). Anyways, there are lots of nice places for running in Berlin, but how do you do it? Do I leave my bike,start running, and then how do I manage to get back to my bike at the end of the run, especially in the first weeks when I am gradually building up my course?<\/span>
\n I went back to Berlin, quite troubled. (no, that\u2019s not true, I just thought this would add some drama to this text). The days went by. And suddenly there was this reminiscence of olden days, when I did my running on a sports ground. I lke that a lot. The monotony of those laps. I liked it in the school days, without headphones, and I liked it a fews years later, listening to music or language lessons. And I liked it during the years at drama school, reciting my monologues, and I even like the time I went running in a gym to get extra fit for a very physical theatre producting. But most of all I enjoyed doing my rounds on an outdoor track.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course a lot of things have changed since my youth, particularly the running outfits, and the shoes of course! There is this clich\u00e9 about women being totally crazy about shoes and having no greater desire in life than to buy a new pair every week. I am sure we all have seen films which tell this story in abundance.<\/span>
\n By the way, the German actress Nina Ernst<\/span><\/strong> has written a lovely song for her stage character Nina Tigrinha <\/a>on this called \u201cWas mich gl\u00fccklich macht \/ Schuhe\u201d <\/a>– (What makes Me Happy \/ Shoes) where she ironically plays with this stereotype. Yes, the song is in German, but I am sure you will enjoy the video without understanding all the words! (And Schuhe and shoes does sound very similar).<\/span>
\n Of course there are women – especially in richer countries – that actually collect shoes, but not only women. The other day I visited a friend, who has got the biggest shoe collection imaginable. And also a lot of my friends who are into different sports have a large variety of appropiate shoes. I don\u2019t have that many, and my favourite pair of every day trainers are definitely approaching well deserved retirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0So I decided to buy new trainers for my running. Easier said then done, because there simply are so many on the market, and also I did not want to ignore the Where and How of shoe maufacturing alltogether.<\/span>
\n At the same time I found a public sports ground, only 10 minutes with bike away from my home, and \u2013 this is also very cool! \u2013 I discovered a running app for my fairphone <\/a>on the F-Droid <\/a>platform (F-Droid is an installable catalogue of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications for the Android platform<\/em>, – it’s perfect for all those who don\u2019t want to install Google programmes on their phones or use the Google playstore).<\/span>
\n So this was the plan: do the rounds, listen to music or Dutch lessons and have the app running in the background, which starts with interval training and leads to a 5 km run after several weeks. Sounds good!<\/span><\/p>\n

I still hadn\u2019t decided on a pair of trainers, but wanted to get started, so I searched my shoe stock for a pair I could use as an interim solution. And guess what I found!<\/span>
\n Do you know the film THE WIZARD OF OZ? Maybe you remember that scene near the end, when the good witch Glinda<\/span><\/strong> talks with Dorothy<\/span><\/strong> and roughly says something like: \u201eYou don\u2019t need help any longer. You always had the power to go back to Kansas. Just click your shoes (sic!) together, and say your wish over and over<\/em>\u201c<\/span>
\n And all of a sudden I was Dorothy, and my shoe wardrobe Glinda showed me that I already possessed super wonderful running shoes all along. Shoes that I had taken over from someone who had outgrown them. Solid shoes, well cushioned, maybe a little chunky perhaps. This is not due to them being men\u2019s shoes but rather because they are a size 7,5 \u2013 and I usually have a 6. But nowadays it is recommended to wear running shoes that are \u2013 yes, exactly! \u2013 1,5 sizes bigger than your usual ones. Well done, Glinda!<\/span><\/p>\n

Shoes that Match the Means of Transportation
\n<\/span><\/h3>\n

Since that day I have been running regularly on ,my\u2019 track. I listen to music and language lessons, and I have started memorizing the text for my next role: in the TV movie NELE IN BERLIN (script: Andrea Solter<\/span><\/strong> and Katinka Feistl<\/span><\/strong>, director: Katinka Feistl<\/span><\/strong>) I am Leonie<\/strong>, who wears shows in the colour of her Porsche.<\/span>
\n In a way I am just like that, since my bicycle is black and my old new trainers also.<\/span>
\n But that\u2019s only one half of\u00a0 the story.<\/span>
\n In the course of the running shoes research I fell in love with a pair of trainers that on the one hand are explicitly not for running (\u201cWear these shoes when you are not running – to improve your performance when you do<\/em>\u201d) – but on the other hand are simply great because they stimulate foot and calf muscles when your walking in them: the Mizuno Be 2<\/strong>. But what is even more important: the colours of the shoe match the colours of SchspIN 100 %!<\/span><\/p>\n

All\u2019s well, that shoe\u2019s well. So this was my personal story.<\/span><\/p>\n
