Ein Gedanke zum Neuen Jahr
\n<\/span><\/h1>\n

2017 kann in der Film- und Fernsehbranche viel passieren. Der Anteil der Regisseurinnen<\/span> <\/strong>wird \u2013 nicht zuletzt Dank der unerm\u00fcdlichen Arbeit von Pro Quote Regie und anderer Filmfrauen und Zusammenschl\u00fcsse – weiter steigen, vielleicht auch der Anteil der Autorinnen<\/span><\/strong>. Langfristig wird sich hoffentlich auch etwas an der Fast-M\u00e4nnerexklusivit\u00e4t<\/span> in den Gewerken Kamera, Beleuchtung und Ton \u00e4ndern und der Fast-Frauenexklusivit\u00e4t<\/span> <\/strong>bei Kost\u00fcm und Maske, aber das ist ein Thema f\u00fcr ein anderes Jahr.<\/span>
\nUnd wie wird es vor der Kamera?<\/strong> Werden auch 2017 weiter veraltete Rollenklischees f\u00fcr M\u00e4nner und Frauen produziert, doppelt so viele M\u00e4nner wie Frauen zu sehen sein, \u00fcberwiegend (attraktive) Frauen unter 40, oft ohne erkennbaren Beruf, die weniger eigenst\u00e4ndige Figur sondern Frau, Mutter, Schwester, Tochter oder Geliebte einer m\u00e4nnlichen (Haupt-)Figur sind? Werden weiter Vorbilder und Identifikationsfiguren f\u00fcr M\u00e4dchen und Frauen fehlen?
\nOder wird sich das endlich ver\u00e4ndern?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ohne die Drehb\u00fccher \/ die Geschichten grunds\u00e4tzlich zu ver\u00e4ndern, k\u00f6nnen durch den NEROPA<\/strong>-Check (siehe http:\/\/neropa.stieve.com\/<\/a>) Frauenanteil<\/strong> <\/span>und Frauenvielfalt<\/span> <\/strong>im fiktionalen Film und Fernsehen erh\u00f6ht werden. Das ist ein erster Schritt, den jede Produktion f\u00fcr sich gehen kann, den Redaktionen zur Norm erheben oder Filmhochschulen als Werkzeug vorstellen k\u00f6nnen.*<\/strong>
\nNEROPA ist kein Zwang, sondern lediglich eine Pr\u00fcfung (idealerweise im kleinen Team), welche der gro\u00dfen und kleinen Figuren in einem Film neutral <\/strong><\/span>sind, d.h. sowohl m\u00e4nnlich<\/span> als auch weiblich<\/span> <\/strong>sein k\u00f6nnten. Diese werden dann abwechselnd als Frau<\/span><\/strong>–Mann<\/span>–Frau<\/span><\/strong>–Mann<\/span> definiert. Mal sind es zwei<\/span> <\/strong>in einem Film, mal elf<\/span><\/strong>, mal null<\/span><\/strong>.
\nNEROPA ist einfach, niedrigschwellig und sehr effektiv. Es bietet eine zus\u00e4tzliche Sicht auf Drehb\u00fccher und macht Spa\u00df. Probiert es dieses Jahr doch einmal aus bei Eurem Kurzfilm, Kinofilm, Fernsehfilm oder Drehbuchentwurf. Neues Jahr, neuer Ansatz!<\/strong><\/span>

Thinking about the New Year

A lot can happen in 2017 in the (German and international) film and television industry. The share of female directors<\/span> <\/strong>will continue to rise (in Germany at least, thanks to the tireless work of Pro Quote Regie and other film women and organizations), maybe also that of female script writers<\/span><\/strong>. On the long run we will hopefully also see a change to the near male-exclusiveness<\/span> of camera, light and sound and to the near female-exclusiveness<\/span> <\/strong>of costume and make-up, but that is a topic for another year.
\nAnd how will it be in front of the camera? <\/strong>Will they continue to produce outmoded role clich\u00e9s for men and women, will we see twice as many men as women, the most of which will be attractive and under 40, mostly with no recognizable professional occupation, very often not stand-alone characters but wives, mothers, sisters, daughters or lovers of a male (leading) character? Will we continue to miss role models and figures girls and women could identify with?
\nOr will this finally change? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Without fundamental changes to the scripts \/ plots, the NEROPA<\/strong> check (see http:\/\/neropa.stieve.com\/<\/a>) can help raise the share of women<\/span> <\/strong>and female diversity <\/strong>in fictional films and TV productions. It is a first step a production can take on its own, that can be introduced as the norm by commissioning editors or be introduced at a tool at film schools.*
\n<\/strong>NEROPA is not coervice, it simply means finding out (ideally in a team) which of the big or small parts in a film are neutral<\/span><\/strong>, i.e. which could be male<\/span> or female<\/span><\/strong>. Then these are consequently defined woman<\/span><\/strong>–man<\/span>–woman<\/strong><\/span>–man<\/span>. Sometimes there are two<\/span><\/strong>, sometimes eleven<\/span><\/strong>, sometimes none<\/span> <\/strong>in a script.<\/span>
\n NEROPA is easy, has a low threshold and is very effective. It offers an additional view to the script and it is fun. Why not try it out this year on your short film, feature film, TV production or script draft. New Year, new approach!<\/strong>
